Hockey
Learn To Play Hockey programs are designed around the guidelines of USA Hockey’s ADM model, which creates a fun, relaxed learning environment for participants to learn the fundamental skills of ice hockey. The non-competitive atmosphere not only makes a child’s first experience with hockey positive, but also creates an environment in which they can excel. Participants will not only learn the skills and game of ice hockey, but also develop self-confidence.The program operates under the premise that if a player’s introduction to the sport is positive, they will develop a lifetime love of the game. Our hockey programs are taught by the Milford Ice hockey staff, comprised of USA Hockey certified coaches with extensive playing and teaching backgrounds. The Learn to Play Hockey Program includes a hockey equipment starter kit for first time players. The gear is provided through the rink and will be available at the rink prior to the first on-ice session. Guardians must include their child’s height, weight and birthday upon registration as this information will be used to issue the equipment. Available sizes are Youth Small (ages 3-5 or 6), Youth Large (ages 5 or 6 to 8), and Junior Small (ages 7-10).Set Includes: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin guards, stick and jersey. A program director will contact registered players with specific details relating to the gear distribution.
